One of my best friend got married on last Saturday.

We've konwn each other for 7 years and spent lots of unforgettable memories together.

Going to the wedding party, I wore a long-sleeved kimono to celebrate her wedding.

It is one of traditional costume in Japan.

For example, when people become an adult(as for Japanese, it is 20 years old), almost all of Japanese girls attend a formal ceremony in a long-sleeved kimno.

We can wear it at some very special event.

Anyway, the wedding was sooooooooo wonderful and my friend was soooooooo beautiful in wedding dress.

I hope someday I get married to someone who love me sooooo much!!! hehe

So i need to post a couple more times before this semester is over. I hope everyone has had a wonderful time so far at school and what not. I know for me the past few months have gone by very quick and i cant believe its already almost 2009. I met a lot of awesome people and learned a lot of Japanese and other stuff... lol. The parties were fun and I'm sure the parties over winterbreak will be just as good :) I wish everyone a good holiday break and merry chirstmas to everyone!

私は雪がだいすき！いしゅかんまえ、スノーボード(snowboard)を買いました。この冬休み友達とスノーボードをたくさんしたいと思います。みんなと行くのが一番たのしと思います。雪がふる時とてもきれと思います。でも、あさはやくおきて、車がたくさん雪がのってるときはさいやくです。まい朝も、クラスまで、自転車をのらなくちゃいけないから、この時もさいやくです。でも、たいてい、雪はだいすきです！

Lucky

So, I have been on a bit of a lucky streak in terms of winning things this weekend.

It started with a videogame called Gears of War 2. My brother and I (well, my youngest brother) have only seen each other 3 or so times since the school semester started, so we needed some bonding time and the game proved to be the perfect remedy for our troubles. To try and summarize it without spoiling it, as we beat it in less than a day haha, the human race has been beaten down to the point of extinction by an alien race called the Locusts. The humans are now down to their last city, which is also their stronghold, and well... I will stop there. Oh, and another thing I should add is that the Locusts move and live underground... and most of them are humanoids... sorry, this probably sounds confusing, oi.

Anyhow, after that, we played a game called Sequence, which involved two decks of cards and a board that has the pictures of the cards, and it is your goal to try and get a sequence of 5 numbers in a row, thus the title, sequence :). Meanwhile, your opponents try to block you off, so it is a lot harder than it sounds. It requires some strategy, but also a fair amount of luck... it is like, a more advanced version of Bingo.

Then, just now, I played a game of Texas Hold'em, which is a kind of poker for any of you who are unfamiliar with it. There were 8 of us playing and I made it all the way down to the final 2. Coincidentally, my last opponent was the same brother I just beat Gears of War 2 with. We just decided to call it a tie and split the cash (we both got 7 bucks, wasn't much, but any amount of cash helps hehe).

I'm a bit worried that I used up all of my luck because I have a test in Japanese on Monday and I could use all the help I can get, but, it has been a good weekend so I cannot complain. My cousins did end up coming over after all and we had a thanksgiving feast; corn, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and all. Hopefully all of you are having as lucky, or at least as fantasic of weekends as I am and, from the looks of these other posts, I think it is safe to say that you are :). Take care!

Happy Day

i met my elementary school friend today. im feeling happy and comfortable when i was chatting with them every time,but suddenly i have to leave them which brings a little bit sad. they are my close friend and there is no forbidden topic between us.we talk about any interesting and funny stuff.
i have nothing to hide or lie when i stay with them.i hope we could be good friend forever. time is passing so quickly and christmas day is coming next month,i still have no idea about how could this year's christmas day be and what wonderful and amazing things would happen this year. im really looking forward to my christas day.

今日はいい日です。　まず、起きて、つかれていませんでした。　それはへんでした。　それから、朝ご飯を食べながら全部きのうの宿題をしました。　そして、英語の授業がないそうでしたから、日本語の授業、の後でぼくのりょうへ帰って、友だちとビデオゲームをしました。　ひまだったから、とても楽しかったです。

Thanksgiving.

I am excited to have Thanksgiving this year. It's probably going to be spent with just my Dad and brother. I hope to make some of the food, although my dad likes to cook sometimes. He makes really delicious green bean casserole. He has made it for me on a few occasions, to take back to East Lansing with me. My favorite food, though, is cheesy potatoes. They're baked in the oven, and I think some of the ingredients are sour cream and chicken broth with lots of cheese and potatoes cut into little cubes. Very good! And of course turkey.
On my mom's side of the family, we used to celebrate Thanksgiving by bringing a dish to pass and playing BINGO. But everyone is grown up now and so busy that we probably won't get together this year. I don't think we got together last year, and if we did, I couldn't go because of work.
Anyway, I can't believe how fast this year is passing. It feels like I just started this semester yesterday and the end of it is in two weeks or so.

FOOD♪

We talked about something special food in many counties in today's class.
As for me, "pavlova" was very interesting food which is special food of Australia.
"pavlova" is a kind of sweet food which is made with whipped cream, edd whites, suger, strawberries and kiwi, and so on.
Sounds nice!!!
Actually, I had lived in Australia for a half and year to study abroud when I was 20 years old.
However, I hadn't hread it so that was unlucky for me to know "pavlova" after going back to Japan. :-(

By the way, do you have any special food in your country?

Thanksgiving

So I noticed some of us, myself included, are looking forward to Christmas time; it is a time where there are pretty lights and of course presents to be had. I'm sure they celebrate something similar to Christmas in Japan, but I am curious whether anyone is doing anything spectacular for Thanksgiving? I think that is one holiday they don't celebrate world wide, more or less, in America we just eat a bunch of fancy foods, although the trademark of the holiday is a turkey, so you need to have that. Other than that though the food folks bring is free game, personally, my family brings fudge, gravy, corn, and random other foods every year.

This year I don't think I will be celebrating it with my cousins though, which is very unfortunate because we have been getting together every Thanksgiving and Christmas since I was about six years old. My cousins have seven kids in their family, the four oldest are in college now and the three oldest are either married or engaged (and the two oldest are with child). Was that confusing at all? I can explain it better if you want hehe. But, more or less, we're getting to old and thereby too busy to have everyone work it into their schedules to meet together every year :(.

But aside from that, as far as school goes, I'd say things are going pretty well. Things are getting crazy with the end of the semester approaching, but I think I have just enough gas in the tank to make it to our break. How about you all?

最近の日本はかなり寒くなりました。いやだわぁ～

別に、私は太ってもいいんだけど、、、太りすぎると自分のサイズが変えないのが悲しいっと思って。。。。笑

最近自分の足が外反母趾になってしまって超～悲しい。。。見つかった時泣きそうになりました。
今まで、唯一だけ自慢できていた足が今じゃぁ。。。。
全部終わってしまったぁ。。。

It makes me very excited because of the beauty!!!

During the winter, city, house or many places are decorated with lots of illumination.

Although it is cold season in winter, I can have something warm feeling when I see it.

During my stay in Tasmania which is part of Australia as a student, I went out with my friends for Christmas light tour.

That was fantastic because there were uncountalbe illumination on the roof and around the house. I had never seen such beautiful scene before. These pictures were taken in the light tour. Actually, it isn't good one to express and convey my feeling exactly.

I went to uni for english speaking practice today and we got "My First Date" as　the speaking topic. Obviously, it is not a good topic for every one and it makesus a little bit embarrassed.
My question for　this topic is which aspect of your romantic history makes you dont wanna talk anymore?　It was interesting that most people wont like to talk about their ex-girlfriend or　ex-boyfriend.
The only different opinion from a weird guy is which he doesnt wanna talk　about the money conflict with his ex-girlfriend.　This is understandable because money　conflict always being the most difficult problem which hard to solve and trouble you all　the time.

11月

11月に入りました★最近の日本はますます寒くなって行きました。今日は特別なことがありましたので、ここに書きたいと思います。
ある学校の文化祭に行って、まさか高校時代の友達や知り合いに会えると思ってなく、びっくりしました。一緒に高校の卒業旅行に行った友達、ちょっと気になっていたあの人、かなりドキドキした一日でした。
そして、ちょっと疲れました。笑

Exams!

Hey everyone, i just thought i would share my frustrations with everyone! Is anyone else just swamped in exams this week? It seems like for the past 3-5 days all I have had time for is study study study. My Econ test on Friday is what scares me the most. I feel like no matter what i do i just end up mixing up all the vocab words. Lol, i guess ill just have to study some more? Anyways, this is all boring talk. Is anyone else excited for Halloween! Its on Friday! Please everyone be safe out there and dont take any candy from strangers. Listen to what your parents and teachers taught you in 3rd grade. Talking about 3rd grade, i wish i could go back to those good ole days when all i thought about was pokemon and recess... Well back to studying. I hope everyone is enjoying their night :)

winter

Winter is coming soon and im going to my friend's place for christmas this year. She reallygot a hot looking and always be kind to others. She is too good even makes other people jealousEspecially, i will try to be that kind of person if i can. Actually she has changed a lotrecently due to some unknown reason.
I alway care about her and hope she will get a good future.Im looking forward to stay with her during the christmas time. Lonely people are every where, more and more people are going to stay single. People are feeling happy while they are shopping. Lol, it sounds stupid but i really enjoy the shopping time even i cant really remember when did money disappear.

先週はさいていでした。まず、月曜日に僕はきんぶんがわるかったです。おなかがいたかったから、わるい食べ物を食べたと思います。僕はびょうきだから日本語の授業と英語の授業栄着ませんでした。しゅくだいがわかりません。

そして、水曜日に英語のしけんがするへたなありました。僕は英語の先生、「あとでテストをうけてみいですか。きぶんがわるから」と開きました。でも、先生があとでしけんをうけてはいけなといました。「びょきじゃない』と言えばよかったです。

それから、土曜日にミシガンしゅうりつ大学のフットボールゲムを見るのはむずかしかったです。ミシガンしゅうりつのフットボールチームメンバーはしんせきみたいだから、好きです。ミシガンしゅうりつのチームがかてばよかったです。ハアー。。。先週はたいへんだね。

つかれいていますよ

今日はとても忙しいですよ。でも楽しかった。授業があります。でもアルバイトがもあります。そしてレストランに行きました。私の家族に行きました。それから日本のconversation hourに行きました。日本のconversation hourで日本語の１年生の宿題を手伝いましだ。(I helped a freshman with homework).　ちょっと異変。でもすごく楽しかった。みんなの日はどうですか。

Busy, busy, busy

Whew, sorry for neglecting the blog lately, I have just been far too busy for my own good. I have had a test, paper, or project due every day for the past week, and this pattern is going to continue into the next week :(. Normally I play videogames to destress, but it just hasn't been doing the trick lately. Do any of you have any tips as to what I might be able to do to relax? I know I will be fine if I can make it through this next week, but it is going to be tough and I can use all the help I can get.



In other news, tomorrow I am going to be working on a movie with a friend. I love to act and have been a part of the main stages, second stages, and open stages here at Michigan State University. Of course... for some reason I am always cast as either the son or a villain haha. My friend Mandy is going to have me play a Prince, which is going to be a nice change of pace for me, not to mention a challenge. Did I mention I like challenges? I think that is why I like videogames, because they require a certain level of skill to complete. Especially role playing games... but I am rambling now so I should bring this entry to a close. If any of you have any questions for me, feel free to ask and I will get back to you as soon as I can :).

Today, I studied body language of four countries which is Canada, China, India and Indonesia in my class and it made me surprised!!!
Especially, I was surprised at India's body language because I never know and use it.

Hello!

Hello everyone, My name is Alex Potter and this is my first blog! I guess i'll just begin with saying that I love japanese and especially japanese food. My favorite is ramen noodles (not the cheap .50 cent ones you buy at Meijers but the original style made straight in Japan). My favorite movie is  Apocalypto by Mel Gibson. Its a must see and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Anyways, I wanted this blog to be about soccer. I grew up playing soccer probably kicking my first ball when I first started to walk. I must say I fell in love right away. I grew up dreaming that I would be the best player in the world, following Pele of course (picture on right). Once I hit highschool, opportunities began to arise. I played for a club team called CA United. We were a national team and traveled all over the place for games and tournaments. The most memorable tournament was called the Sun Bowl Tournament in Florida where we took 1st place. The first goal of that game was scored by me which was pretty awesome at the time. I was also part of our Highschool varsity team and in 2004 our team won the Division 1 State Championship. We were also ranked 11th in the country. The team we had was amazing and everyone was very talented. Well thats just a nutshell of my soccer career. Thanks for reading!

First Post

Hello. My name is Katherine Rothley and I am a student at Michigan State Univeristy. I'm not really sure what to talk about for a first blog so I'll go with the general topic of movies.
One of my favorite movie sagas is Star Wars. Even though I was only a little kid when the older trilogy came out, I grew up watching the movies. The robots were funny, I love R2D2. Darth Vader is also very cool in my opinion. I am infatuated with the idea of becoming and being a Jedi and wish that I had the force. Their uniform or clothing is very cool too. It looks very comfortable. It is a desire of mine to own an X-wing, even though they don't actually exist.
I had an opportunity to see young children train in the Jedi Academy at Disney Land in California this summer when I went there to visit relatives. I wished that I could have participated but I am too old for the age group they had in mind.
My family and I also rode the Star Wars ride there. It was entertaining even if it was a bit predictable. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have much apparel for Star Wars in the gift shop, it was mostly mickey mouse and Disney stuff rather than Star Wars.
Kill Bill is another favorite movie of mine. I am fascinated by Japanese swords and the fight scenes with the Japanese sword in them are amazing. It makes me wish that I knew how to use one, not to kill, but to look cool doing all those moves. I went to a few kendo club meetings at the beginning of this semester but because of the amount of homework and studying I need to do for my classes, I was unable to continue going to kendo club meetings.
